Are You in the Right Chair? – A New G2G Perspective
- Pastor Kenny Sung/Translated by Jeanie Li
Joshua 24: 14-15 “14 Now fear the Lord and serve
him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond
the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. 15 But if
serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day
whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the
Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as
for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
·Three Generational Chairs
1st Chair – 1st Gen – Walked With and
Committed to God
§Joshua
24:14-15
2nd Chair – 2nd Gen – Knew about God
and Compromising
§Judges
2:6-7 6 After Joshua had dismissed the Israelites, they went to take possession
of the land, each to their own inheritance. 7 The people served the Lord
throughout the lifetime of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him and who
had seen all the great things the Lord had done for Israel.
3rd Chair – 3rd Gen – Forsook God and
Conflict
§Judges
2:10-12 10 After that whole generation had been gathered to their ancestors,
another generation grew up who knew neither the Lord nor what he had done for
Israel. 11 Then the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord and served the
Baals. 12 They forsook the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who had brought
them out of Egypt. They followed and worshiped various gods of the peoples
around them.

Revelation
3:15-16 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you
were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor
cold— (2nd chair) I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
